// PATAP's latest initiative ; Deadline for applications: 16 April //
Are you interested in taking your skills and knowledge in Poetry or Extended Reality (XR) to the next level? If yes, then Telematic 360 is the ideal opportunity for you. PATAP (Pan African Telematic Art Project), an initiative of the Vrystaat Art Festival - funded by the National Arts Council of South Africa - is looking for 10 young artists who are currently based in Bloemfontein or Johannesburg, and are willing to immerse themselves in this robust online learning program which will take place from the 19th of April to the 31st of May 2021.
This program focuses on the following objectives:
Equipping artists with skills, knowledge and competencies for them to use in the creative industry.
Create platforms for artists from different disciplines and backgrounds to collaborate
Promote and create awareness of innovation in technology focused art
Develop the capacity of artists to not only create but also educate others on what they have learnt.
We will select 5 poets to participate in the poetry program facilitated by Xabiso Vili. This learning program will cover writing, performing, publishing and branding. We will also select 5 XR designers (or digital artists willing to learn XR) to participate in the XR program facilitated by Sisanda Tech. This learning program will cover the introduction to XR, and how to build XR apps and experiences. Please note that this will be an "intense" online learning program, which will require a significant amount of your time and energy until the end of May, in order for the program to meet its objectives and to ensure effective learning. With this being said, please only apply if you will be able to fully commit to this program if you are selected.
