Mbangiso Mabaso - the Super Malume that is building the future every week with Sisanda Tech has been busy as usual. From teaching Augmented and Virtual Reality Technology using chalk, "the classic way" at different schools, to providing XR learning experiences through the Sisanda Tech YouTube channel, it's always great seeing the work that he does. I've really been enjoying and learning a lot from the content on their channel.
If you know any Science and Tech teachers, please note that he would be happy to visit their schools too, so feel free to spread the word and let them know that can invite him to their schools. A lot of students and teachers can benefit from an immersive science simulation platform to explore their curiosity, especially one that uses 3D content and augmented reality to simplify science education for learners.

Congrats to Rick Treweek - AKA - MetaRick and his team on their new project Uncanny Alley: A New Day which has been selected in competition at the 81st Venice International Film Festival this Aug 2024. Its a live theatrical performance set in Virtual reality; a collaboration with Ferryman Collective VR and set in the Uncanny Alley Universe. The Venice Immersive section will present 63 projects from 25 countries, so it looks like it's gonna be quite an interesting and dynamic section.

If you didn't know about this groundbreaking AR platform that merges any media with AR tools through an intuitive and accessible interface, eliminating the need for prior coding experience, then now you do. MediAR (Powered by BlackRhino VR) is Africa's first Augmented Reality - AR cloud editor & publishing platform, and I'm still experimenting with the platform so I will provide updates once I publish a few projects. I'm really excited because this is something we've needed for a long time.
MediAR is a youth-led platform which fosters the growth of a community that utilizes the power of AR technology. Their platform builds skills for the next generation of entrepreneurs and content creators that will subsequently foster a digital ecosystem specializing in AR content, goods and services. Simply put, "Imagine a world where African youth are not just consumers of technology but creators, innovators and leaders."

Last but not least, there's a meetup/AR competition sponsored by Snapchat on Sunday the 4th of August in Joburg. It's a totally free meet-up and a great opportunity to meet like-minded people from the scene. I'm planning on going but that's dependent on whether all my clients pay on time. lol
This will be an awesome chance to:
Get free pizza and hang with friends
Practice making augmented reality filters (all skill levels welcome)
Share your AR filter directly with Snapchat's senior team (if you’re interested)
Win R500 for your team and AR street cred
If you know someone who would be interested, please let them know, & if you'll be attending, don't forget to sign up here/ visit: https://forms.gle/DnDAVqvPEsTMYeQy5
