About the event

Discover the joy of reading poetry in peaceful company.
The Radioactive Poetry Book Club is a new monthly gathering in Harare, inspired by the global Silent Book Club movement. We’re creating a space where poetry takes centre stage; whether you're a lifelong reader or just starting out. There's no assigned reading, just an hour of quiet reading followed by an optional shared poetry experience, where you can read a poem you’ve discovered or simply connect with fellow poetry lovers.
Unlike traditional book clubs that often overlook poetry, we’re prioritizing it, because poetry books are powerful, accessible, and perfect for busy or hesitant readers. Writers and poets are especially encouraged to join, not just to share, but to reignite the habit of reading. Don’t have a poetry book? We’ve got a few to lend. Whether it’s a paperback or an e-book, bring it along. Check out photos from our previous event…
